ABOUT THE STUDENTS.......

The students in the SBHS Advocacy Group ranges in grades from 9-12.  The emphasis during the Freshman and Sophomore years is to educate the students about what a learning disability is and and, specifically, what their disability is and how that disability affects them at school and in the community. The Juniors and Seniors are involved in an intense Self-Advocacy training which eventually involves presentations and trainings in the community to educate those around them such as community leaders and employers. Check back to this page often to view links to the Advocacy students' personal pages which they will be developing as part of the community education portion of the course.
