THE TEACHER
Hello,
My students call me Mrs. S or "Coach". I have taught at SBHS for 11 years in the Special Education Department. Eight of those years, I have spent devoting to teaching Self-Advocacy. This is an area I enjoy teaching and feel is a necessary component to any disabled persons life.
I have been married for 26 years to the same man, Gerald, which seems to be a miracle in this day and age. We have one son, Gerad, who is 21 years old. We are very involved in the agriculture industry along with our "other" careers. Gerad markets Angus bulls and feels there is no other breed. Gerald also works for the same school district that I teach in and that Gerad attended, so we seemed to be together ALL THE TIME. We all got along quite well. Gerad is not attending the South Dakota School for the Blind and Visually Impaired until May and then will once again be living with us and working in this area.
